The streets of Bewdley became a theatre where the greatest story ever told, Passion of Christ, was performed on Good Friday, March 29th, 2013.
Load Street and the Severn River Bridge were closed for an hour from 2.15pm, whilst the Bewdley Passion Play was performed by professional and non-professional actors.
The play was a promenade in which actors and audience moved between different places in the centre of Bewdley, as the story of the trial and death of Jesus was performed.
The climax was the crucifixion scene in front of St. Anne’s Church, Load Street.
The play was been adapted from a play performed in Warwick town centre and was directed by Stephen Conway.
