A professionally produced, community performance project bringing the last week of Jesus’ life to the village of Wroughton, Swindon.

A Passion Play is a transient dramatic presentation of the final week and death of Jesus Christ traditionally performed in multiple outdoor locations. Swindon based theatre company Gatecrash Theatre, in partnership with Wroughton Parish Church and Bible Society, have joined forces to create a gripping production of this story, in the form of the Wroughton Passion Play.

Gatecrash Theatre are a non-religious theatre company and are ceasing this opportunity to tell an incredible story – one that has shaped the culture we live in. Whatever your background this presentation of the last week of Jesus’ life will make a powerful and thought-provoking piece of theatre for everyone. It is our aim to ensure that the final production of the Wroughton Passion Play is gripping and thought-provoking using live theatre, music, song and even some dance to bring the story to life for the whole village. Regardless of our performers and audience’s beliefs it is a strong, emotionally charged and very human story which we will bring to Wroughton with pride and conviction.
